    • In contrast, lab-reared Washington and Oregon whelks held with only M. trossulus drilled more mussels per day than did California whelks [mean ± SEM, 0.317 ± 0.019, 0.309 ± 0.040, and 0.167 ± 0.028; Washington, Oregon, and California, respectively; analysis of variance (ANOVA), P = 0.007].
