10. Mischmetall as small ingots (about 5 g) is purchased from Fluka (about $6 per 500 g). It is an industrial material used, for example, as an additive for iron-smelting. It is also the main component of flints. Mischmetall ingots are easily scraped in air with a rasp; the powder is kept under argon (average MW of mischmetall is 140).
