    • It is astonishing that theory predicts wafers only 150 μm thick are needed to achieve an energy resolution of 0.75 μeV FWHM, whereas the HFBS achieves effectively the same resolution (0.80 μeV FWHM at low Doppler speeds) using wafers that are five times thicker (t ∼ 700-750 μm). The reason for this discrepancy is still not understood.
