    • In 2D, the Landau-Pierls instability prohibits the true crystalline order, generally making it more difficult for any materials to solidify in 2D than in 3D. Also assisted by the favorable characteristics of electrostatic interactions in 2D as argued in the present paper, the 2D monolayers would be advantageous for FNLCs.
