    • Cloning and expression of a novel neurotrophin, NT-7 from carp
    • This work describes the isolation of neurotrophin-7 from carp and reports that it binds and activates the TrkA receptor. The authors suggest that neurotrophin-7 is a paralogue to the previously isolated neurotrophin-6. Neurotrophin-6 has so far only been isolated from platyfish (see [3]).

This work describes the isolation of neurotrophin-7 from carp and reports that it binds and activates the TrkA receptor. The authors suggest that neurotrophin-7 is a paralogue to the previously isolated neurotrophin-6. Neurotrophin-6 has so far only been isolated from platyfish (see [3]).

    • The authors mapped 144 zebrafish genes. The map was then compared with mammalian maps. The comparison revealed large conserved chromosome segments. The results corroborate the hypothesis that two polyploidisation events took place before the divergence of fish and mammalian lineages.
