This study demonstrates the efficacy of infliximab therapy on refractory erosive calcaneal enthesitis in two adult HLA-B27-positive patients with spondyloarthropathy. Improvement is noted in the two patients both clinically and radiologically. Infliximab may therefore be a potential therapeutic option in the treatment of refractory peripheral enthesitis commonly seen in JSpA.

This retrospective study found that 6% of 314 juvenile idiopathic arthritis patients developed radiographically evident sacroiliitis after a median disease duration of 14.9 years. Predictors for the development of sacroiliitis included HLA-B27, absence of DPB1*02, late onset of disease, and early hip involvement.
