There have been some disputes over the nonperturbative renormalization in the effective poential; see R. Tarrach, Phys. Lett. B 367, 249 (1996);

M. Consoli and P.M. Stevenson, Phys. Lett. B ibid. 391, 144 (1997), and references therein. We do not intend to discuss such issues as we will employ standard subtraction procedures on the diagrams as intermediate renormalization. After intermediate renormalization, we require certain quantities like vacuum energy density to be physical and independent of subtraction points to constrain the dependence of the coupling constant upon the subtraction point. We will also use a differential equation approach to evaluate the loop diagrams to help our analysis.
