    • The approach for this calculation is the same as in the case of Newtonian fluids, which can be found in H. K. Tönshoff, Werkzeugmaschinen (Grundlagen) (Springer, Berlin, 1995). The only assumption needed is a laminar flow of a fluid through a gap resulting in a linear decrease of pressure. Therefore, this equation is applicable in a wide range of situations.
