8. 1H NMR data ("δ H 7.98s, 7.38s, 6.72s, 4.65s, 3.64s, 3.64s, 3.52s...") is very similar to the values we have obtained for leandreanin A (1), but no further information (the reference quoted is to an M.Sc. thesis in which we can find no mention of the compound under discussion) is forthcoming. In ref 9 "...while pseudrelone C is a ring D-opened derivative of phragmalin (Nakanishi, K., pers.comm.)...".
