7. The yield of 81% represents the yield of the precipitated crude material after sonication which is a mixture of tri and tetrabromo derivatives along variable amounts of starting α-Cd.
8. 13C NMR on a Bruker-DRX 400 spectrometer, FTIR spectra were recorded on a Bruker-Vector 22 spectrometer. Mass-spectra were recorded on an ESI-MS Plateform Micromass Platform spectrometer. Elemental analyses were obtained with a EuroEA-Vector analyzer. The solvents were purified by standard methods.
