    • The question of a possible STM-tip influence on the vacancy diffusion has been thoroughly investigated. It is only for high tunneling resistances (1.2 V and ∼0.2 nA) that the diffusion events are independent of tunneling conditions. All diffusion data presented in this report were acquired in this tunneling regime.
