43. Dioxane-dibromide was prepared by adding drop wise bromine (8 mL) to dioxane (5 mL), until a yellow solid product was obtained. It was filtered, dried in a vacuum desicator and stored in a refrigerator (yield 10 g, mp 61-62°C).
