    • Here the scatterers are randomly distributed. In the case of a perfect periodic arrangement, two situations can occur. If the spectrum of the incoming pulse falls in a stop band, no transmission is possible; outside the stop band, the propagation will be essentially ballistic and H will be of lesser rank.
