    • It is not surprising, in retrospect, that the classical and quantum results are in perfect agreement in the cases where the bath is harmonic, the coupling is linear or quadratic, and the system can be neglected. In this case it is expected that the quantum and classical Liouville dynamics are identical. What is important, however, is that this equivalence can be extended to the process of decoherence, a phenomenon assumed to be solely quantum in nature.
