    • A solution of la in cyclohexane was irradiated at room temperature with a 300 W high-pressure Hg lamp light through a color glass filter (Toshiba UVD-35 λ= 365 nm). The cis:trans ratio under the photostationary state could not be calculated from the decrease in the assumption maxima of trans isomer because of overlapping with absorption of cis isomer.

    • A cyclohexane solution of lain KBr liquid cell was irradiated at room temperature with a 300 W high-pressure Hg lamp through a color glass filter (Toshiba UVD-35 X = 365 nm). Although the conversion from cis-1a to trans-1a in the dark at 25 C was considerably slow, trans-1a was regenerated quantitatively after one day. The cis/trans ratio under the photostationary state was calculated from the decrease of the intensity in the stretching absorption band for the trans- isomer
