13. 5,5′-(Pyridin-2-ylmethylene)di [1,3-dimetylpyrimidine-2,4,6(1H,3H,5H-trione] as tetramethylated derivative of 5 was prepared by 2,2′-pyridil condensation with 1,3-dimethylbarbituric acid in refluxing methanol. The structure was confirmed by X-ray single crystal analysis, obtained by slow crystallization of the reaction product from acetic acid.
