In order to reconcile the existence of the 7° deflections in the PVDF chain and the fact that the experimentally observed space group is Cm2m, Hasegawa et al. proposed a statistical model, in which the deflected chain and its mirror image could occur with equal probability. To simplify the calculation, we did not adopt this model in our work.
