    • The θ = 0 axis is defined by the direction of the longer side of the 25 mm × 75 mm cell, where θ is the polarized irradiation angle of the actinic light as illustrated in Figure 2. The polarization birefringence was then monitored by following the intensity of transmitted linearly polarized He-Ne laser beam though the cell and the polarizer (analyzer). The cell is then rotated with respect to the fixed analyzer as a function of the rotation angle (∅). The transmission behavior is then plotted as a function of the rotation angle (∅) and the transmission intensity.
