Experimentally, the absolute value of (Formula presented) is not determined to a precision better than (Formula presented). However, the phase difference between the two pump pulses is fixed, and we need to establish it for comparison with calculations. This is done by calculating (Formula presented) for ten different, equally spaced, values of (Formula presented) in the range (Formula presented) (188–189 optical periods). The value of (Formula presented) that best reproduces the experimental result in Fig.� 3 c, 311.0�fs (188.8 optical periods) is chosen and used as a reference for the comparison between calculations and measurements at all other (Formula presented)
