    • The cytoplasmic membrane instability upon adsorption of strongly charged polyelectrolyte molecules has been overcome by pre-treating the cells with a cross-linking agent such as glutardialdehyde. The cells were incubated in 2% v/v glutaraldehyde for 60 min prior to the coating process.
