    • In Ref. [7], it has been shown that, in order for SI to be maximally violated by a quantum state |ψ>, it is necessary that <ψ|CC′ + C′C|ψ>=0. For a spin-1/2 particle, this condition is met whenever the measurement directions corresponding to the spin observables C and C′ are perpendicular between themselves, since this is equivalent to the vanishing of the anticommutator {C,C′}. By symmetry, the conditions <ψ|AA′ + A′A|ψ> = <ψ|BB′ + B′B|ψ> = 0 must also be met if the state |ψ> is to maximally violate SI.
