note
-
There is a letter to Himmelweit dated 22 November 1947 from Dennis Brinton, Dean of St. Mary's Hospital Medical School, informing him that the St. Mary's Committee declined to forward his application for a chair to the University of London. More than this, the Committee would not even forward his nomination for a readership (associate professorship)! From the Fred Himmelweit papers in the possession of his daughter, Susan Himmelweit.

Himmelweit was able to use as the basis of this extended bibliography one prepared by Hans Sachs as an addendum to a festschrift prepared to honor Ehrlich on his sixtieth birthday in 1914: Paul Ehrlich: Eine Darstellung Seines Wissenschaftlichen Wirkens (Jena: Gustav Fischer, 1914).
