These data demonstrated convincingly that the combination of carvedilol and ACE-inhibitors in mild to moderate heart failure is associated with similar outcomes in the black patient with heart failure. A subsequent analysis of the COPERNICUS database obtained from more severely ill patients with heart failure supported these findings.
