30. 20 A question might be raised as to whether this term can contribute to c axis conductivity in the present triclinic case where b and c are not perpendicular. This explanation has previously been shown as incorrect. For high field along b all of the perpendicular couplings are dephased so there is no transport from one a-b plan to the next. There is conductivity along the a-b planes and therefore there is a component of this conductivity in the c direction (since c and a-b are not perpendicular) but this will not allow a current to flow from one a-b face of a crystal to the opposite face, as in an experimental measurement.
