7. -1. Resonant frequencies are typically 17 kHz in air and 3 kHz in water.
8. This operation is actually useless as the cantilever holder is not in electrical contact with the cantilever gold coating.
9. However, we have also successfully tried a more classical route where the holder is first covered with gold which is selectively removed on the cutting by using aqua regia following a classical photolithography procedure.
10. These experiments were conducted in air. In water, thermal exchanges are better and we expect the nonlinearities to begin to occur at higher currents.
11. Briefly, a solution of fluorescently labeled actin filaments stabilized with phalloidin in buffer B was incubated on amino-sililated glass plates according to classical procedures. After 1 min incubation, glass slides were rinsed with pure buffer and placed on the instrument carefully avoiding drying.
