42. b. Depending on the number and norm of the eigenvectors of this invariant 2-plane, the Ricci tensor - and hence the stress-energy tensor - can be classified into four different types. Type I matter is characterized by two real orthogonal eigenvectors, and includes most of the known physical descriptions of matter: electromagnetic field, perfect fluid, and dust (with or without a Λ-term).
