note
-
As a two-dimensional (2D) object in 4D spacetime, the mirror actually sweeps out a worldvolume. However, due to its transverse symmetry, for the purpose of keeping track of the mirror's motion it is convenient to treat it as a 0D object in 2D spacetime, wherein the path it traces is appropriately referred to as a worldline. Equivalently, "mirror's worldline" may be taken as an abbreviation for "2D cross-section of the mirror's world-volume in the z-t plane."
