1. Corporación Latinobarómetro is an independent organization based in Santiago, Chile, that funds and coordinates an annual survey conducted in 17 countries in Latin America. It is a private survey that began in 1995. Data are accessible through purchase, with a lag time of four years in the public release of the data (data from 1995 are now available to the public). Samples are representative of urban national populations, except in Brazil, Argentina, and Paraguay. Sample sizes are mostly 1,000 cases per country, for a total of between 17,000 and 18,000 cases annually within the entire region. The project is funded by multiple sources in the private and public sectors, with significant participation from international organizations such as the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the European Union, and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). Responsibility for the results rests solely with Corporación Latinobarómetro.
