All three areas offer a Doctor of Philosophy in Fine Arts. The School of Music holds accreditation with the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM), and the School of Art holds accreditation with the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD).

Both committees are concerned with their respective departmental collections and the resources in University Libraries. The Department of Theatre and Dance has a faculty liaison that works directly with the Fine Arts Librarian.
