Redefining MDR-TB transmission "hot spots."
-
14 Becerra MC, Bayona J, Freeman J, et al.: Redefining MDR-TB transmission "hot spots." Int J Tuberc Lung Dis 2000, 4:387-394. This paper takes data from the first WHO/IUATLD report on prevalence of drug resistance and analyzes it in a different way. The authors have calculated the absolute numbers of MDR-TB cases expected per annum in various countries. Based on this, they have re-defined MDR-TB hotspots as those countries that are estimated to have more than 500 oases par year.
