    • We calculate the electric field amplitude of the incident bean, at the interface between the gold and the epoxy layer, as a function of gold film thickness, with the three-phase theory of Hanson, W. N., Kuwana, T., and Osteryoung, R. A., 1966, Anal. Chem., 38, 1810. We found that the electric field amplitude in the gold falls to less than 2% at the far boundary when the thickness of gold is more than 80 nm.
