    • In the GPC studies of these polymers it was found necessary to use strictly anaerobic conditions. Comparison of the MW of polymers formed under both aerobic and anaerobic conditions showed that the former had substantially lower molecular weights. We believe this to be due to oxidative degradation catalysed by residual 1 in the reaction mixture.
