16. The tail of the heap is affected by the presence of a confining geometry (i.e. silos) [12, 14]. This is not the case for the top of the heap, which we are studying here
17. 0 of the order of a few meters. In this case the behavior is completely different from the one studied here: we observe a large reorganization of the pile after each impact and the formation of a crater at the top of the pile
