Another characteristic feature of the present approach is that the staggered potential in the generalized Kohn-Sham equations (4) forces the Kohn-Sham orbitals to reproduce the true staggered density of the interacting many-body system. The staggered density is not always calculated in other approaches, but where it is calculated it is usually that of the Kohn-Sham system, not that of the true many-body system.
