note
-
The similar chemical shift changes were not observed for nonionic guests such as pyridine, quinoline, benzene or naphthalene. The essential cationic charge in the guests establishes the significant contribution of the cation-π interaction to the formation of the complex.

note
-
In the FAB-MS analyses, the only host:guest 1:1 complex was observed. No formation of the complex with other stoichiometries was confirmed for all the hosts and the guests.
