note
-
4+ ion is of the order of 0.07 eV in the literature and Δε is about 0.2-0.3 eV (see Ref. [11]) depending on the position of the Fermi surfaces. Thus we expect that the anisotropy can be large enough to support our mechanism. Detailed microscopic calculation is under way.

The anisotropy is discussed also in K. K. Ng and M. Sigrist, Europhys. Lett. 49, 473 (2000): M. Sato and M. Kohmoto, cond-mat/0003046. It will be an interesting problem how the spin-orbit interaction modifies the isotropic FLEX approximation which was discussed in L. Tewordt, Phys. Rev. Lett. 83, 1007 (1999).
