No. LA-UR-86-748, Powder XRD patterns were obtained on a Phillips X'Pert MPD diffractometer using monochromatized CuKa (A = 1.5418 A) radiation. Samples were held on a quartz zero background plate and data were collected in 8-0 geometry. A sample of highly crystalline LaB6 was used to determine the instrumental linewidth, and full profile analysis was then used to refine both the lattice parameter and the grain size of the Pt replica sample.
