Correspondence with the Assistant to the Director for Cataloging at the Library of Congress provided NACO data on authority records and their origins for fiscal years 1996, 1997, 1998. This correspondence corrects an error in LC's Cooperative Cataloging Team's annual report for 1997 which cited 1996 as the first year NACO participants contributed more new headings than LC. LC did not issue an official retraction to the error of the report. This error was then cited in the OCLC Newsletter Nov/Dec 1996, p.10.
