ACL, as well as other groupings such as ScanDutch, Saecs, and Anzecs, included very tight marketing clauses, which eventually led to their dissolution in the early eighties.

note
-
Whether this independent approach can also be maintained in the years to come is yet to be seen. However, it seems reasonable to say that in every case the two companies will be very reluctant about joining large alliances, as their distinctive business philosophy and aggressive market approach will more likely lead them towards narrow and coherent agreements, where they may have the opportunity to take the role of the dominant partner.
