    • In the literature, the reduction of 4 is performed by the addition of hydriodic acid and heating to 65°C. However, we were not able to remove the halogen substituent at this temperature. Therefore, we carried out the reaction at an oil-bath temperature of 110°C, at which conversion occurred.
