The off-diagonal matrix elements of the Hamiltonian were calculated according to the modified Wolfsberg-Helmholz formula (J. Ammeter, H.-B. Bürgi, J. Thibeault, R. Hoffmann, J. Am. Chem. Soc. 1978, 100, 3686). A basis set composed of double-ζ Slater-type orbitals for C and S and single-ζ Slater-type orbitals for H was used. The exponents, contraction coefficients, and atomic parameters were taken from previous work [14].
