17. We have decided to use the two terms "nano" and "meso" in order to describe the dimensions of the hollow fibers in the range 50-2000 nm. This is clearly within but also beyond the size of nanoshaped objects, which were coined by Whitesides for objects up to 1-100 nm [1].
