The abbreviation in parentheses is its trade name. This compound should be stored below -10°C to prevent any decomposition. Half-life data indicates that V-70 is more unstable than AIBN in solvents. The temperature at which half of V-70 and AIBN is decomposed in 10 h in toluene: V-70, 30°C; AIBN, 65°C. V-70 is stable in a refrigerator for a few months in a solid state
