    • Ketone 7a was prepared by the reaction of cyclohexanecarboxaldehyde with the Grignard reagent of α-bromostyrene in THF at 0 °C. Ozonolysis of the product in dichloromethane at -78 °C, followed by dimethyl sulfide quench, gave 7a in 85% yield for the two-step synthetic sequence.
