Recently, the possibility of vortex-percolation was explored by JAGLA E. A. and BALSEIRO C. A., Phys. Rev. B, 53 (1996) 538. At finite fields these authors allow periodic boundary conditions along the field direction to be used when testing connectivity perpendicular to the field. This is equivalent to studying superfluidity via the winding number of the 2D non-relativistic boson system on which directed field-induced vortex-lines have been mapped. See NELSON D. R., Phys. Rev.
