12. Our analysis ignores the Doppler broadening, as for a sample of cold atoms, in order to draw general conclusions about CPT in open systems, rather than to deal with a particular experimental situation.
13. Through a basis change, atomic superpositions may be transformed into single states, and vice versa. Thus for the CPT preparation single atomic states and atomic superposition should be considered equivalent.
