    • The growing cell plate of higher plants is a site of both actin assembly and vinculin-like antigen recruitment
    • Light and electron microscopy are used to examine in detail the arrangement of F-actin in phragmoplasts of Clivia endosperm cells. The presence of vinculin-related proteins in cell plates of Clivia endosperm cells, maize root tip and tobacco BY-2 cells is also documented. The results suggest a role for actin and vinculin-related proteins in stabilizing early stages of cell plate formation.
