Biochemie offers a wide variety of essential medicines and active drug substances in more than 120 countries. The Biochemie Group, which had sales of >650 million in 1998, employs about 3000 people at production sites in Austria, Indonesia, Italy, Germany, and Spain. The Frankfurt facility, which was affiliated into Biochemie in 1998, is the group's third fermentation base and employs a workforce of approximately 350 people. The production program encompasses the manufacture of various intermediates and active ingredients for antibiotic pharmaceuticals.
