    • note
    • The questions were: • What is your perception of where the FDLP is headed? How do you envision the government information services that your library will offer to the public in the foreseeable future? • What is your assessment of the impact on your library's budget and allocation of costs likely to result from public service requirements and guidelines issued by the GPO and the information needs and expectations of the public? How do you plan to meet these costs? • Please discuss any tradeoffs that you may have to make within your library in order to meet depository equipment and public service standards. • Please comment on the specifications for public workstations, especially any that you consider problematic. • Please comment on the public service guidelines for information in electronic formats, especially any that you consider problematic. • What problems have you encountered with government CD-ROMs, and how are you planning to handle these materials? • Have you carried out-or are you planning to carry out-any reorganization in your library in order to meet public service (or other) government information goals? If you have reorganized, what is your assessment of the results? • Some predict that nearly all federal government information will soon be distributed via the Internet. What is your view of this? Assuming it were so. what would be the implications for the FDLP and for your library? • Why be (or remain) a federal depository library today? • Are there any circumstances that would or might lead you to drop-or consider dropping-depository status?
