In addition, a systematic search of the American Journal of Physics back to 1972 turned up no articles concerning electrical measurements on the earth, and, indeed, very little in the area of geophysics. The theory of the subject is well represented in the geophysics literature [W. M. Telford, L. P. Geldart, and R. E. Sheriff, Applied Geophysics (Cambridge U.P., Cambridge, 1990)], but actual applications tend to be reported separately in the geology literature.
